A lifestyle magazine that informs and enertains, Electric Consumer is the voice of Indiana's electric cooperative utilities.
Electric Consumer is the award-winning publication of Indiana’s electric cooperative community. The publication serves consumers of 28 locally-owned, not-for-profit electric cooperatives. More than 227,000 families and businesses receive the printed publication as part of their electric co-op membership. Electric Consumer provides news, information and features about people, places and issues relating to electric co-ops, their consumers and communities.
Electric Consumer's focus is electrical power, safety and rate-related issues affecting readers and their member-owned electric cooperatives. Human interest profiles, recipes, gardening information, outdoor and home improvement features are also a regular part of this consumer publication.
The publication was redesigned beginning with the February 2013 printed issue as a 32-page magazine, after almost 62 years as a newspaper tabloid. Electric Consumer is published monthly by the Indiana Statewide Association of Rural Electric Cooperatives, Inc.
